To restart or carry on...
After a couple years of inactivity, does one restart a blog or just act like there has not been a gap in time? haha
I have been destashing my stock pile of beaded jewelry supplies to focus on what I really want to work on, METAL! So, I have this crazy love for hammering metal, shaping metal, manipulating wire and using fire. What girl doesn't? I mean really?!
My most recent work was a set of three fine silver bangles. They belong to me, naturally. I did each one a little differently. I have always loved the sound of bangles 'banging' against each other since I was a kid. I think I thought women were fancy with that sound. haha
I am still narrowing down what aspect of jewelry I would like to focus the most attention toward. I am going to play around with etching in the next couple of weeks. I love the idea behind etching and think it would be a lot of fun. Ordered some ferric chloride, so as soon as that arrives...PROJECT TIME!!
Laku Noc, <--Croatian for good-night.

Introduction
Welcome to the jewelry blog for Rusty Halo Designs!
Hi my name is Mara and I am the sole artist/designer here. I have been making jewelry (albeit inconsistently) since 2005 for friends and family that wanted a piece of my work.
My passion, however, has migrated into Metalsmithing. I have a genuine love for metal so am eager to see where this path leads me. It is quite intriguing to take an idea, design it on metal, saw it out and make it happen. If you would like to follow me along my journey, please do so.
I am finishing my Autumnal Bliss line for school at the New York Institute of Art and Design. The first half of my line is bead and wire-wrapping. I love wire-wrapping. :) The rest of my collection will definitely have metal! They will mesh well as I am using the same beads throughout for a cohesive look. Stay tuned!!
